FAQ

What you might be wondering

A few of the questions people often ask before getting in touch. If your question isn't here, a conversation is the best place to start.

The first conversation is a chance to talk through what has brought you here, what you would like help with, and whether working together feels like the right fit. It can take place by telephone, video call, or face to face, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.

No. Many people get in touch because things feel unclear or unorganised. We will help you understand what information may be useful and how the process works.

No. The first conversation is simply an opportunity to understand your circumstances, discuss what you are looking to achieve, and decide whether working together feels right for both of us.

You do not need to wait for a major event or have everything worked out before seeking advice. Speaking to us can be helpful whenever you want more clarity, confidence, or structure around your financial future.

Many people choose to seek advice when they are approaching retirement, receiving an inheritance, changing jobs, planning for their family's future, or simply wondering whether they are making the most of their finances. However, financial planning can be valuable at any stage of life.

The earlier you start the conversation, the greater the opportunity to shape your financial future with intention and make confident, informed decisions.

Yes. At The Wealth Studio, we provide independent financial planning and are regulated to advise on retail investments, pensions, protection, and other suitable financial planning solutions. Our independent status means we are not restricted to a particular provider, product range, or investment company. Because we are not aligned with any product provider, our recommendations are driven entirely by your individual circumstances, goals and priorities.

Initial fees depend on the complexity of your circumstances and the amount of work involved, subject to a minimum of £750 and a maximum of £12,000. Ongoing fees for the service level you select are charged as a percentage of the portfolio, subject to a minimum of £250 per year and a maximum of £12,500 per year.

Additional services, such as cashflow modelling*, advice on other assets and one-off pieces of work, are costed and charged separately.

All costs are fully disclosed and agreed with you before any work is undertaken.

*Note: All Cashflow Planning & Modelling is delivered using standard retail financial planning platforms and constitutes standard regulated financial planning projections, not technical actuarial work.

You pay us for the services we provide to you. In most cases, we do not and cannot receive commission from a product provider. The exception is protection insurance, such as cover for life, critical illness and income protection. If we recommend a suitable protection policy, we will clearly explain any commission that would be paid by the provider if you choose to proceed. There is no obligation at any time to purchase any financial product through The Wealth Studio.

Yes. Planning your business and personal finances together can help ensure they work towards the same goals. Our services can complement the work of your accountant, and we are happy to engage with them where appropriate.

The Wealth Studio provides regulated financial advice, but not across every area of financial services. For example, we do not provide advice on residential mortgages, retail buy-to-let mortgages, defined benefit pension transfers or long-term care products. Where specialist advice is required, we can introduce you to a trusted professional with the appropriate expertise.

Financial planning is about more than the size of your portfolio. It is about understanding where you are now, what matters most, and how your money can support the life you want. If our service is not the right fit for your needs, we will explain this clearly and, where possible, suggest a more suitable next step.

Family financial planning can make sense for many families, particularly where financial decisions affect more than one generation. We are happy to explore how we can support you and your family, while making sure each person receives advice that is appropriate to their own circumstances.

Yes. Life changes such as retirement, bereavement, divorce, inheritance, career change, or family transitions can all affect your financial plans. We can help you understand your options and make decisions that feel considered and manageable.

It all starts with a conversation.
